Fashion sustainability is an increasingly important topic in today's world, where the fashion industry is one of the largest contributors to environmental pollution and carbon emissions. Consumers are becoming more aware of the negative impact that fast fashion and excessive consumption of clothing have on the planet, and are looking for ways to make more sustainable choices.
Reyya is a conscious brand and we deeply care about the impact our business has on the environment, nature, resources and society. We are constantly trying to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible and do responsible retailing.
Slow fashion: One of the key components of fashion sustainability is reducing waste. We know how much resources are used from producing fabric to stitching the final garment. Hence, we don’t promote fast-fashion and instead only launch one collection every quarter.
Limited Inventory: Instead of flooding our warehouse with inventory, we keep limited stock of our products. However, we have constant production going-on to reproduce our best-sellers before they get out-of-stock.
Solar Power: We harness solar power in our factory, warehouse and office in Jaipur, India . We believe in renewable energy and try to utilize it as much as possible.
Rain water harvesting: We have installed a harvesting plant in our factory and warehouse to save as much rainwater as possible, and recharge ground-water levels.
Using natural fabrics: Another important aspect of fashion sustainability is choosing materials that are environmentally friendly. We are trying to reduce using synthetic fibers made from petroleum such as polyester/viscose, and instead are choosing natural fibers such as cotton, linen, and wool. It also means considering the environmental impact of the production process for these materials, such as the use of pesticides or water usage.
Eco-friendly packaging: We put a single layer of plastic in all our orders and have started using corn-starched biodegradable bags for deliveries, instead of plastic or paper bags.Planting Trees: We have partnered with theGoodApi and Eden Reforestation Projects to plant one tree with each item purchased from our website.
Labor: We are very conscious of our workforce, and do not promote child labor in any form.
Fair wages: We believe in equal pay and fair wages for all our workforce.
Artisans: We promote a lot of artisans, especially across rural India. A lot of our processes such as hand work, sequence work, foil work, quilting, block-printing happens across villages of India. This not only creates employment but also contributes to economy of these villages.
Compliance: Factory of our parent company, Major Group, is SEDEX compliant.
FIRE Safety: We take all measures to safeguard and protect our workforce at our factory, warehouse and office. We have FIRE NOC and regular fire training.
Equality: We believe in equality for all, and promote having a very diversified workforce. We are open to work with people of any nationality, language, culture, religion and color. We believe in our team and people.
